98 year old dobri dobrev, a man who lost his hearing in the second world war, walks 10 kilometers from his village in his homemade clothes and leather shoes to the city of sofia, where he spends the day begging for money.

though a well recognized fixture around several of the city’s chruches, known for his prostrations of thanks to all donors, it was only recently discovered that he has donated every penny he has collected — over 40,000 euros — towards the restoration of decaying bulgarian monasteries and churches and the utility bills of orphanages, living entirely off his monthly state pension of 80 euros and the kindness of others.

Wow.

Text 14 Jan 30 notes Plus-Size Clothes Swap/Sale!

modernmenagerie:

Firstly, I’m broke. Financial aid isn’t kind to me this semester and I’m not able to afford my books and supplies, so I’m trying to supplement my income by selling some of my precious wardrobe. If you could reblog this post so I have more potential buyers, I’d really, really appreciate it. So much so that I’ll follow you!*

*unless you’re racist or something else terrible. Don’t be terrible. Stop.

Secondly, I hate clothing sale posts because I want all of the things but have no money, so I figured I’d allow us some tradesies. :) I’m a 10.5/11 shoe size, size 20-22 in dresses, 24 in pants, and 3x in shirts. If you’ve got something you think is worth whatever you see here that you want, we can swap.
I’m really in need of jackets and leggings and tights.

Here’s the deal.

For Sale: I will cover all shipping fees if I’m shipping somewhere in the United States. Free shipping, yay! If someone elsewhere wants something requiring international shipping, I’ll cover partial shipping because… I mean, I’m broke, but I’m sorry I can’t give you guys the same deal.

Swaps: I need to see pictures of the item you’d like to trade. Obviously I’m not trading something worth 20 bucks for a pair of socks or an old t-shirt, but I’m not expecting a chiffon wedding gown, either. And it has to fit, and I’m no size small. Or I just have to love it enough to be happy seeing it in my closet.

Without further ado…

Comment: This is my favorite skirt, and I’ve wanted to wear it so badly, but it doesn’t fit.

Tops

image

Style: Lace button-up blouse
Color: Mustard yellow
From/by: TJ Max
Condition: New, never worn (no tags)
Price: $10 (bought for $22)
Comments: This is also a favorite of mine, bought for me by my best friend. A bit tight on me though.

Comment: It looks like there’s a stain on the front, but my fingers were just wet when I buttoned it up right before the picture.

Dresses

image

Size: 3x
Style: A-line dress, short sleeves, knee-length
Color: “Generation Print” (pinks, black, taupe, white)
From/by: Worthington at JC Penney
Condtion: New with tags
Price: $15 (Originally bought for $35)
SOLD

image

Size: 18 (but I can still wear it and fill it out beautifully at size 22)
Style: Quasi-formal, long, sleeveless, empire waist, A-line dress
Color: Black with a purple and green dot pattern
From/by: Dressbarn
Condition: Worn three times (I wore it to the past three Thanksgiving parties)
Price: $15 (Originally paid $45)
Comment: I love, love, love this dress. It’s warm because there’s two layers, and it’s so incredibly soft. It fits my D-cups so perfectly! It was figure-flattering when I was a size 18 and it still is at size 22. It’s a bit more formal than what I usually wear, and I need a new Thanksgiving dress so hopefully someone else will love it too. :)

Wheretos and Whyfores:

If you want something, tell me via my ask box. If you are wanting to buy, I’ll take Paypal and money orders as payment. I’ll list the item as SOLD when you tell me you’ve sent your payment. Upon receiving the payment, I will ship you the clothing in question. If we’re trading, you must offer your potential swap as if to a deity with a burnt offering and food  send me a message saying what you want, then telling me what you’ll trade for it. I’ll give you my email, you send me pictures of the item, and if I’m okay with the trade and we both deem it fair, we’ll ship our things and be so happy and probably best friends forever.
